MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511107118 A) filed by Uflex Limited, New Delhi, on Nov. 5, 2025, for 'a security film having covert floating light image, visible in source of focused light.'
Inventor(s) include Chaturvedi, Ashok; Pathak, Ganesh Prasad; Singh, Chanderbhan; and Mohan, Jainnendra.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a security film (100) comprising a carrier film (10); at least one metallization layer (30); and at least one covert holographic pattern (40); wherein the covert holographic pattern (40) having covert floating light image (CFLI) is invisible to an observer (O) under a normal lighting (D) and becomes visible as a floating light image or text (110, 120), on a top surface (100A), only on illumination with a source of focused light (P) such as mobile phone LED light etc. The no. of visible floating light image (110, 120) is equal to the no. of illuminated sources of focused light (P). The covert holographic pattern (40) is embossed either directly on a top surface (10A) of the carrier film (10) or over an embossable layer (20) configured on the top surface (10A). The security film (100) has thickness in the range of 4 ~ 450 microns."
