MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411002695 A) filed by Giesecke+Devrient ePayments GmbH, Munchen, Germany, on Jan. 13, 2024, for 'a secured device for storing non-fungible tokens.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a device for storing digital tokens (106) associated with one or more physical assets (104). The device (100) comprises one or more processors (202) coupled to a memory (204) storing a plurality of instructions executable by the one or more processors (202), which when executed by the processors (202), causes the device (100) to store one or more digital tokens (106) associated with one or more physical assets (104) upon authentication and authorization by a centralized certified authority, wherein the device is configured to be assigned to at least one of the physical asset among the one or more physical assets (104), receive an authentication request from a user for accessing the device (100) and the corresponding stored tokens (106), and verify the user and correspondingly provide access to the digital tokens (106) associated with the corresponding physical asset (104) upon positive authentication of the user."
