MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541085201 A) filed by Srm University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, on Sept. 8, 2025, for 'a scaffold for facilitating bone regeneration and a method for fabricating the same.'
Inventor(s) include Debashish Gogoi; and Manjesh Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a scaffold and a method for fabricating the same for facilitating bone regeneration. The scaffold comprises polycaprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), fluorapatite (FHAp) nanopowder, and polypyrrole (PP), processed through solvent-cast 3D printing. The present disclosure further relates to a composite ink formulation, the ink exhibits controlled viscosity, shear-thinning behaviour, and printability while preventing nozzle clogging. The fabricated scaffold mimics the mechanical and electroactive properties of native bone, demonstrates electrical conductivity in the range of 0.02-0.04 S/m, and supports enhanced cell viability and hemocompatibility."
