A ridge-textured profile (104) is formed on at least one surface of the metal sheet (102), and includes a plurality of ridges (106) arranged to define air gaps (G) between the heat shield (100) and the engine exhaust components. Each of the plurality of ridges (106) includes a protruded portion (108) extending above a baseline (O) of the surface of the metal sheet (102), and an extruded portion (110) extending below the baseline (O). The protruded and extruded portions (108, 110) are configured at different distances from the baseline (O) of the metal sheet (102) such that the air gaps (G) serve as a thermal insulation between the engine exhaust components and a surrounding vehicle structure."
