MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541049172 A) filed by Ashok Leyland Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 21, 2025, for 'a reverse parking system with auto braking of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a system and method for reverse parking with auto braking of a vehicle. The sensors (102) are operatively connected to the electronic control unit (ECU) (104) and are configured to detect objects or obstacles in a path or around the vehicle when the vehicle is engaged in active reversing state; the sensors (102), upon detecting objects, send a signal to ECU (104); the ECU (104) determines presence of the obstacle within a predetermined proximity threshold, and send a signal A to an alarm unit (106) and send a signal B to a controller (108); The controller (108) is configured to send corresponding auto braking signal to a brake actuation system (114), which activates a service brake and/or parking brake of the vehicle through a relay (110) and a solenoid valve (112)."
