MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641007854 A) filed by Konwert India Motors, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 27, for 'a retrofit kit for retrofitting a three-wheeler.'

Inventor(s) include Nickendra Manikandan Senthil; Kothandaraman N; Akshay Jith P P; Deepak K V; Medhun Krishnaa A; and Three Vishnu A G.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a retrofit kit for retrofitting a three-wheeler (200), said kit comprises a plurality of jigs (102), (110), (114), (118), and (124) with pre-defined dimensions for measurements and markings on a chassis (202) and a superstructure (204) of the three-wheeler (200). A mounting base (224) adapted to be aligned with one or more pre-existing attachment ports of the chassis (202) and superstructure (204). A plurality of fixtures is used to secure the mounting base (224) with the superstructure (204). A plurality of profiled structures is embodied in the mounting base (224) and is configured to quickly receive and secure said components in a compact arrangement, thus minimizing the installation complexity and reducing the kit installation time to approximately 90 minutes during retrofitting. One or more electrical harnesses for connecting said components to function adequately during the three-wheeler's (200) motion."
