MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061655 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering, Hyderabad, Telangana, on May 15, for 'a real-time water consumption monitoring and leakage detection system using ai-based pattern analysis.'

Inventor(s) include Battula Divya.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention pertains to a water consumption monitoring and leakage detection system in real time based on pattern analysis by artificial intelligence. The system uses IoT-based flow sensors, cloud computing, and machine learning algorithms to continuously track water consumption and detect any signs of abnormal use, which could be a red flag for water leakage. Water usage data gathered from sensors is pre-processed and sent to a central cloud platform where an AI-based analysis engine captures normal water usage patterns over time by analyzing time series and adaptive learning models. This is achieved by comparing the actual consumption data with the learned behavioural patterns and sending immediate alerts and notifications either via mobile application, web dashboard or message services. The invention enables real-time monitoring, auto-thresholding, and continuous model updates that increase the detection accuracy and decreases false alarms."
