MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521098686 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Oct. 13, for 'a pyrocatalyst composite film and a process for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Patel, Satyanarayan; Gaur, Aditya; Saurabh, Nishchay; and Dr. Janakiraman, Subramanyam.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a cost-effective, an efficient, a high performance, a long-lasting, a reusable, and an improved pyrocatalyst composite film for degradation of an organic effluent present in a wastewater. In addition, the present invention relates to a simple, an easy, and an industrially scalable process for preparation of said pyrocatalyst composite film, and applications thereof. The pyrocatalyst of the present invention is an electrospun pyrocatalyst composite film comprising a pyroelectric material added polymer film, wherein the electrospun composite film enables an efficient degradation of the organic effluent of the wastewater, in addition, employment of the electrospun composite film ease the process of removal of the organic effluent from the wastewater as its allows easy recollection, and reusability of said pyrocatalyst for more than 80 cycles. Accordingly, the present invention offers a sustainable approach for removal of the organic effluent from the wastewater."
