MUMBAI, India, Jan. 3 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103605 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'a process: "intelliplant: an ai-powered growth monitoring and certification model for tax incentivization" (apgmcmti).'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Yogita Satish Garwal; and Dr. Asha Mamraj Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process referred to as"Intelliplant" provides an automated and verifiable framework for linking domestic plantation growth with tax rebate benefits. The system comprises environmental sensors, imaging devices, and artificial intelligence technology to continuously capture and analyze plantation data such as soil moisture, temperature, nutrient levels, and visual plant characteristics. Further, artificial intelligence technology processes this data using advanced image recognition, feature extraction, and species-specific growth models to determine plant height, canopy development, survival probability, and overall health indices. These growth metrics are compiled into a digitally signed progress report, which undergoes cryptographic hashing and is anchored to a blockchain ledger for ensuring authenticity, immutability, and tamper-proof certification. The verified growth report is transmitted to a government tax portal via a secure application programming interface (API), enabling automated validation of individual plantation contributions and allocation of proportional tax rebates. The process further incorporates user-facing applications for real-time feedback, anomaly detection, and remedial recommendations, thereby ensuring higher survival rates of plantations. Additionally, provisions for third-party audit or manual verification may be activated in cases of low AI confidence or suspected anomalies. By offering a scalable, transparent, and AI-driven certification process, IntelliPlant (APGMCMTI) incentivizes citizens to adopt and maintain sustainable plantation practices, establishing a novel linkage between ecological responsibility and fiscal policy."
