MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611025018 A) filed by Craeer Point University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, on March 3, for 'a process of preparing herbal dandelion anti-acne gel and application thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process for preparing a herbal anti-acne gel incorporating an extract of Taraxacum officinale (dandelion) into a pharmaceutically acceptable topical formulation. The process includes controlled drying, pulverization, solvent extraction, filtration, and concentration of dandelion plant material to obtain a phytochemically rich extract. The extract is subsequently incorporated into a gel base comprising gelling agents, humectants, penetration enhancers, stabilizers, and preservatives to produce a homogeneous and stable gel. The formulation demonstrates antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity beneficial for managing acne and related skin conditions. The invention further describes the mechanism of action, formulation parameters, stability evaluation, and therapeutic potential of the gel. The resulting herbal composition offers a safe, effective, and cosmetically acceptable alternative to synthetic anti-acne treatments and is suitable for large-scale production in pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical applications."
