MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007444 A) filed by Sri Ramachandra Institute Of Higher Education & Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 3, 2024, for 'a process of preparation of zinc supplemented sweet and product thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Mounika Gunasekaran; and Supriya Velraj.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a process of preparation of zinc supplemented sweet. The process of the present invention comprises of following steps; a. roasting pumpkin seeds, wheat germ flour, samai flour, Bajra flour, cashew nut and cardamom individually followed by mixing to form a mixture; b. mixing jaggery with water and boiling to form a jaggery syrup; c. adding the mixture to the hot jaggery syrup followed by stirring to form a sweet mixture and finally shaping the sweet mixture into round shape to form zinc supplemented sweet. The present invention also discloses a zinc supplemented sweet prepared by the process as described above."
