According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a process for preparing a papain-pectin aerosol spray for wound healing comprising: a. dissolving papain enzyme powder in distilled water and activating by incubating with cysteine-HCl, EDTA, and mercaptoethanol, while maintaining the pH between 5.0 and 7.5 to form activated papain solution; b. dissolving pectin powder in distilled water under agitation to form a pectin gel matrix; c. mixing the activated papain solution with the pectin gel matrix to immobilize and stabilize the enzyme to form stabilized papain-pectin gel mixture; d. transferring the stabilized papain-pectin gel mixture into an aerosol container equipped with an air propellant and a delivery mechanism capable of producing a fine mist suitable for wound application. The present invention also discloses a papain-pectin aerosol spray for wound healing prepared by the process as described above."
