MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050262 A) filed by Sree Balaji Medical College And Hospital, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 20, for 'a process of preparation of herbal respiratory detox and immune boosting beverage for occupational lung health.'

The beverage comprises Tulsi (1 g), Amla (1 g), Ginger (0.5 g), Licorice (0.25 g), Black Pepper (0.1 g), Lemon juice (2 ml), Jaggery (3 g), and Water (200 ml). The preparation method involves boiling the mixture at 90-100 C for 5-10 minutes under atmospheric pressure, followed by filtration to obtain a consumable beverage. The formulation leverages the synergistic antioxidant, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties of the ingredients to improve lung function, reduce inflammation, and enhance immunity. The invention overcomes drawbacks of existing herbal formulations by providing a simple, affordable, palatable, and accessible solution tailored for occupational lung health. This beverage offers a practical, non-toxic, and effective alternative for daily consumption by vulnerable populations."
