MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133866 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education and Research; and Meenakshi Ammal Dental College And Hospital, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a process of preparation of a bioceramic root canal sealer composition and product thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sooriaprakas Chandrasekaran; Dr. Gopikaraj V; Dr. D. Nalluswamy; and Dr. Arunagirinathan.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a process of preparation of a bioceramic root canal sealer composition comprises of following steps; a. mixing tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, and calcium phosphate under gentle stirring to obtain a bioceramic base matrix; b. dissolving Ocimum sanctum leaf powder, Syzygium aromaticum bud powder, Azadirachta indica leaf powder, Glycyrrhiza glabra root powder, propolis, and Aloe barbadensis gel in ethanol-water mixture under magnetic stirring to form an herbal solution followed by filtering and concentrating to obtain an herbal blend; c. adding the bioceramic base matrix into the herbal blend under stirring to form a uniform paste followed by adding deionized water to form a homogeneous sealer composition followed by filing in pre-sterile, single-use syringes and sealed to prevent exposure to light and moisture to obtain bioceramic root canal sealer composition. The present invention also discloses a bioceramic root canal sealer composition, prepared by the process as described above."
