MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531080216 A) filed by Mckv Institute Of Engineering, Liluah, West Bengal, on Aug. 24, for 'a process of estimation of real time bulk modulus of hydraulic fluid.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ajit Kumar Pandey; Dr. Abhijit Dutta; and Dr. Md. Ehtesham Hasan.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A process of Estimation of Real time bulk modulus of hydraulic fluid The present invention discloses a system and method for real-time diagnosis of oil bulk modulus in hydraulic systems. It is configured with a sound-generating unit, multiple microphones, and an Arduino-based processing system to estimate the instantaneous bulk modulus of hydraulic oil without interrupting operation. By calculating the velocity of sound in the oil medium and applying computational algorithms, the system provides continuous monitoring of fluid stiffness. This enables adaptive hydraulic control, early fault detection, and enhanced system efficiency. The invention is applicable across industries including automotive, aerospace, mining, and construction."
