MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411029501 A) filed by National Institute Of Pharmaceutical Education And Research, Mohali, Punjab, on April 11, 2024, for 'a process for the preparation of chlorothiazide.'
Inventor(s) include Joydev Kumar Laha; and Anjali Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process for preparation of chlorothiazide. The process of present invention is an improved green synthesis process in metal free condition using green formyl source. The process employs mild reaction conditions and uses non-toxic, non-hazardous and cheaper reagents, thereby making the process economical and environment friendly."
