Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar Shetty; Preetham K S; Rakshith L Shantan; Samradh Raj Poojary; and Nithesh Devadiga.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A process for production of natural fibre composites by semi -automatic process using additive manufacturing technique, comprising the steps of cutting of fibre material and placing on a bed of 3D printer, exporting a CAD 3 Dimension model of the product to Ultimaker Cura, that converts the 3D model into G-code, enabling the 3D printer to layer the materials, printing of the product or test specimen through PLA filament, by strategically placing fibre material on top, followed by additional layers of filament, curing is fallowed for one or two hours after finishing the product or test specimen and testing and analysis being done to check for achieving required mechanical properties. CAD model is designed for tensile testing sample, by capturing the specific dimensions and specifications. The Ultimaker Cura, software that converts the 3D model into G-code, enabling the 3D printer to layer the materials. The 3D printing is used for precise control over placement and orientation of fibers that is being fine-tuned to achieve optimal performance in the final product."
