Abstract: ABSTRACT "A PROCESS FOR PREPARING METAL OXIDE NANOPARTICLES EMPLOYING AN AUTOCLAVE HAVING CYLINDRICAL GEOMETRY" Disclosed is a process for preparing metal oxide nanoparticles employing a Teflon coated stainless steel autoclave, said process comprising the steps of preparing an aqueous or alcoholic metal salt solution by adding metal salt to water or alcohol; adding a base substance into the solution as obtained so as to obtain a homogeneous solution; transferring the solution to a Teflon-lined stainless-steel autoclave chamber up to 2/3rd volume of its total volume; sealing the autoclave and then the autoclave is subjecting for heating at 120-200°C for 6–12 hours; allowing the product for cooling at room temperature and then the product is subjected for centrifugation at 5000–10000 rpm for 10–20 minutes in order to obtain a precipitate; washing the precipitate with water first and then with ethanol; drying the product as obtained at 60– 80°C for 6–8 hours.
