Nithyatharani; Dr. Kousalya Padmanaban; Ms. Ujjwala Rani; Dr. Prasun Kumar; Dr. Harshada Kitey; Dr. N. Reehana; and Dr. R. Arthi Manju, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 30, for 'a probiotic composition isolated from fermented food for reducing serum cholesterol levels.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system (100) includes a probiotic composition isolated from fermented food for reducing serum cholesterol levels comprising a fermented food selection unit (102), a microbial isolation unit (104), a probiotic cultivation unit (106), a strain stabilization unit (108), a formulation unit (110), and a cholesterol reduction delivery unit (112), wherein the fermented food selection unit (102) identifies probiotic-rich fermented foods, the microbial isolation unit (104) isolates beneficial strains, the probiotic cultivation unit (106) propagates the strains, the strain stabilization unit (108) maintains viability, the formulation unit (110) prepares a consumable composition, and the cholesterol reduction delivery unit (112) administers the composition to reduce serum cholesterol levels. The invention enhances cholesterol management and promotes a natural, probiotic-based therapeutic approach."
