MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431030860 A) filed by Neontram Private Limited, Balasore, Orissa, on April 17, 2024, for 'a pressure ulcers prevention system for neonates.'

Inventor(s) include Mallick, Adarsha Narayan; Basumatary, Bijit; Arora, Kamaldeep; and Sahani, Ashish.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present invention relates to a pressure ulcer prevention device for neonates comprises of an inflating anti-sore bed with alternating pressure channels for inflating and deflating particular portions of the bed for changing the posture and positon of the neonate's body, comprising a multi-layer composite fabric consolidated structure where the alternating pressure channels or inlets are intricately integrated into a single frame in a crisscross pattern. Further, the pump (116) is actuated by the microcontroller (112) for allowing flow of air towards primary solenoid valves (118) and the primary solenoid valves (118) are actuated in an alternate manner by the microcontroller (112) by processing the command provided by the relay module (116). The first and second bed pressure channels delivers air flow towards the pressure channels (108) due to actuation of the channel and release solenoid valves (120) for inflating and deflating the pressure channels (108) in an alternate manner to change the posture of the neonates, thereby preventing bed sores and pressure ulcers."
