MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113919 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi; and I-Hub Foundation For Cobotics, New Delhi, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'a pressure sensing device and a method for spatial mapping of pressure distribution.'

Inventor(s) include Mallick, Dhiman; Singh, Vishal; Akthar, Irshan; and Beigh, Faizan Tariq.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pressure sensing device (100) is disclosed. The pressure sensing device (100) includes a flexible substrate (102) having an array of electrode assemblies (104) disposed on a top surface (106). The array of electrode assemblies (104) includes a first layer (302) and a second layer (304) adapted to generate a plurality of electrical signals. An electrode member (108) disposed including a top layer (308) and a bottom layer (310) such that an interaction between the top layer (308) and the bottom layer (310), generates electrical power. At least one processing unit electrically coupled to at least one of the array of electrode assemblies (104) and the electrode member (108) and operated using the electrical power generated by the electrode member (108), the at least one processing unit is configured to transmit the plurality of electrical signals to a remote device for determining the pressure exerted by the subject."
