MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441076711 A) filed by Bosch Limited; and Robert Bosch Gmbh, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 9, 2024, for 'a power tool with a guard member and guard member thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Jeffrey Thomson Mathew; Arun Krishnan; and Vigneshwar Sourirajan.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The power tool 100 comprises, a base 102 to position a workpiece. A support frame 104 rigidly mounted at a first end of the base 102. A support arm 106 pivotably mounted to the support frame 104. The support arm 106 carries a motor operated saw blade 108. The power tool 100 also comprises the guard member 110 mountable to a side surface of the support frame 104 and aligned in radial direction of the saw blade 108, characterized in that, the guard member 110 comprises an elongated slot 114 and mounted to the support frame 104 through the elongated slot 114 using a single screw 112. The elongated slot 114 enables height adjustment and the single screw 112 mounting enables tilt adjustment of the guard member 110 at any height. The guard member 110 blocks at least one of the spark and chips during cutting operation of the workpiece."
