MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531134300 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'a power management system for an integrated hybrid microgrid with model predictive control.'
Inventor(s) include Ray, Prof. Pravat Kumar; and Jena, Dr. Chinmaya Jagdev.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein disclose a power control and management system for an integrated hybrid microgrid with plug-in electric vehicle charging. The system includes a photovoltaic power unit operating in a maximum power point tracking mode, a hybrid energy storage system, a common DC bus, bidirectional DC-DC converters, and a grid-interfacing power converter connected to a three-phase utility grid and local AC loads. The controller employs a unified finite control set model predictive control coordinates power flow. Moreover, the model predictive power control strategy regulates grid interaction. Further, the electric vehicle charging is performed using a model-predictive constant current-constant voltage strategy."
