The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a poultry feed premix fortified with selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) designed to enhance gut health in broilers and other poultry species. The premix comprises rice husk and selenium encapsulated in oleic acid, with selenium nanoparticles having an average particle size of approximately 15 4 nm. The rice husk to selenium nanoparticle ratio ranges from 1:10 to 2:10. The premix is suitable for various birds, including broiler chickens, ducks, turkeys, and hens. The method of preparing the premix involves dissolving selenium salts in water, adding oleic acid, stirring at 333 K, and cooling, followed by storage at 4 C. The selenium nanoparticles are then mixed with rice husk. The selenium salts used can be selected from various compounds, such as sodium selenite, with the final nanoparticle concentration being approximately 7800 ppm. The premix can be utilized for large-scale commercial feed production."
