Inventor(s) include Dr. Vaibhav Neema; Sruti Mishra; Utkarsh Sharma; Kanishk Singh Rajput; and Sarthak Shrivastava.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a portable Braille keyboard device for visually impaired users. The device features a foldable housing (102) with left and right base sections for changing in portable or operational state. It incorporates a key assembly (106) with eight primary Braille key modules and additional auxiliary keys, along with a toggle switch (106C) to select between different input modes. The core functionality is managed by a microcontroller (108) which registers a two-column Braille code from two sequential key actuations within a time window. This code is then mapped to a Braille character according to a stored mapping table. The device provides the corresponding text symbol through a variety of outputs, including a haptic feedback pattern, an audio signal, a host interface (122), and a visual display (126). The design facilitates an efficient and intuitive Braille input experience in a compact form factor."
