MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123193 A) filed by Avinashilingam Institute For Home Science And Higher Education For Women, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'a plc based automatic bilayer edible and ecofriendly film making machine and process thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a PLC-controlled automatic bilayer edible and ecofriendly film making machine comprising: * A hopper with heating mantle for mixing raw materials into casting solution. * A degasser and viscometer for ensuring uniformity and consistency. * A Teflon-coated conveyor belt transporting the solution through a programmable heating chamber. * A PLC system integrated with IoT sensors for real-time monitoring of drying progress, temperature, humidity, and belt speed. * A moisture meter for monitoring the moisture level of the films. * A cooling system with micro-fans to reduce brittleness. * A UV sterilization unit for microbial decontamination. * An automatic cleansing system with soft bristle brushes for hygiene. The coordinated operation of these subsystems under PLC control enables efficient, hygienic, and reproducible production of edible bilayer films."
