MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621023353 A) filed by Ve Commercial Vehicles Ltd., Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Feb. 27, for 'a piston for an internal combustion engine.'

Inventor(s) include Kartik Tajta; Ashish Jain; P. Kumar; Akhilesh Shukla; and Sachin Agarwal.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A piston (100) for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The piston (100) comprises a cylindrical shaped body (102) operatively coupled to a piston arm and configured to reciprocate within a cylinder bore. Further, the cylindrical shaped body (102) comprises a piston crown (104) defining a flat annular brim (106), and a centrally depressed flat surface (108) extending inwardly from the flat annular brim (106). Further, the flat annular brim (106) and the centrally depressed flat surface (108) together define a compact and symmetrical combustion chamber. Further, the compact and symmetrical combustion chamber is configured to promote uniform flame propagation and enhanced mixing of gaseous fuel during combustion."
