MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411090961 A) filed by Uflex Limited; and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, New Delhi, on Nov. 22, 2024, for 'a pilferage proof, temper evident shrink sleeve for a lpg / gas cylinder / container and a method of applying thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A shrink sleeve (10S, 20S) or a pre-formed shrinkable cap (100) formed by using a shrink sleeve web (10, 20) comprising a shrink film (1); at least one top security strip (2, 2A, 2B) and / or at least one bottom security strip (4, 4A, 4B); and one or more lines or patterns of perforations (P1, P2); wherein at least one security strip(s) (2, 2A, 2B, 4, 4A, 4B) comprises one or more anti-counterfeit elements (6) and / or at least one security element (8) for track and trace, supply chain and inventory management features. The perforations (P1, P2) are provided to ensure irreversible damage of shrink sleeve (10S, 20S), if tampered manually for pilferage of the gas / product from the cylinder / container. Further, the invention provides methods of sleeving and securing a cap & nozzle assembly (40, 50, 70) of a gas cylinder / container."
