MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521129461 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 19, 2025, for 'a pharmaceutical composition and related methods for management of piles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A homoeopathic piles ointment is formulated using a lipid-based ointment base comprising wool fat, hard paraffin, white soft paraffin, and cetostearyl alcohol, in combination with active botanical mother tinctures such as aloe socotrina Q, calendula officinalis Q, and hamamelis virginiana Q, along with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. The ointment is processed using an Ano-Soothing Micro-Dispersion Technique, which enhances uniform distribution and interaction of the actives with sensitive anorectal tissues. This formulation supports soothing action, vascular comfort, tissue repair, and local hemostatic response, and is designed to aid in the management of internal and external piles, including associated pain, burning, bleeding, itching, rectal congestion, and fissure-related discomfort."
