MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521130878 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 23, 2025, for 'a pharmaceutical composition and related methods for management of piles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pharmaceutical composition for managing piles in the form of a syrup comprising mother tinctures including aloe socotrina Q, calendula officinalis Q, and hamamelis virginiana Q in defined proportions, along with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. The composition includes suitable sweetening agents, solvents, and preservatives to provide palatability, stability, and uniformity. The syrup is prepared using a gentle Smooth-Blend Integration Step (SBIS), which ensures even dispersion of the active mother tinctures without mechanical homogenization, thereby preserving potency. The composition supports soothing action, vascular tonicity, mucosal comfort, and haemostatic balance, and is designed to aid in the management of internal and external piles, including symptoms such as bleeding, burning sensation, pain during defecation, venous congestion, irritation, and fissure-associated discomfort."
