MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521129589 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 20, 2025, for 'a pharmaceutical composition and related methods for management of melasma.'

Additional emollients such as vitamin E acetate and cocoa butter are incorporated to enhance skin absorption and moisturization. The composition utilizes a Pigment-Dispersion Micro Creaming Technique for uniform dispersion of the active ingredients, ensuring enhanced efficacy for the managing of melasma. The composition is packaged in opaque tubes to protect light-sensitive components, ensuring product stability. This composition is suitable for topical application and provides therapeutic benefits for managing melasma, with potential additional uses in the management of melasma, chloasma, hyperpigmentation, and other skin conditions caused by uneven pigmentation."
