MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521131099 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 24, 2025, for 'a pharmaceutical composition and related methods for management of diabetic neuropathy.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for managing diabetic neuropathy, comprising secale cornutum, Phosphorus, and hypericum perforatum Q (mother tincture) in a lipid-based ointment base. The composition is designed to alleviate symptoms of diabetic neuropathy such as burning feet, tingling, numbness, and electric-shock pains. The ointment base includes a combination of wool fat, hard paraffin, white soft paraffin, and light liquid paraffin, along with suitable excipients like cetostearyl alcohol for emulsification. The preparation method involves controlled heating and a micro-dispersion technique to ensure uniform distribution of the active ingredients, which are then packaged in opaque tubes to maintain stability. This composition offers a topical solution for the effective management of peripheral nerve discomfort in diabetic patients."
