MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127261 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University; and Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Dec. 16, 2025, for 'a ph-responsive gel formulation for intelligent drug release.'
Inventor(s) include Payas Arora; and Deepti M Sati.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a pH-responsive gel formulation (100) designed for intelligent drug release. The system comprises a smart polymer matrix (101), pH-sensitive crosslinkers (102), drug micro-reservoirs (103), buffering microdomains (104), swelling-control channels (105), and a controlled release interface (106). The gel responds to environmental pH variations by altering its swelling behavior, thereby modulating drug diffusion. This enables targeted, efficient, and reversible delivery of therapeutic agents across diverse physiological environments."
