MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044220 A) filed by Aditya University; Aditya College Of Engineering And Technology; Aditya College Of Pharmacy; and Aditya Degree College, Surampalem, Andhra Pradesh, on April 7, for 'a paper cutting device with oscillating cutting member for forming zig-zag edges and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure proposes a paper cutting device (100) configured to produce uniform zig-zag edges on gift wrap paper (10), thereby reducing manual effort, minimizing time and effort required for cutting, and ensuring uniform edge patterns across full-size gift wrap materials. The paper cutting device (100) comprises a hollow body (102), a guide member (104), a rotating element (106), a cam member (108), and a cutting member (110). The paper cutting device (100) enables formation of uniform zig-zag edges on gift wrap paper (10), thereby enhancing the visual appearance of wrapped gifts. The paper cutting device (100) enables continuous decorative cutting through manual linear movement without requiring external power sources. The paper cutting device (100) is capable of cutting full-size gift wrap sheets while maintaining pattern continuity and alignment across long edges."
