MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611054771 A) filed by Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 29, for 'a novel thiazole derivative and process for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Preeti Jain; and Ms. Manju Gaur.
The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a compound having structural Formula (I) and to a process for preparation thereof. The process comprises reacting indole-3-carboxaldehyde with 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide in the presence of glacial acetic acid under reflux to obtain a Schiff base intermediate, and reacting the Schiff base intermediate with 3-(2-bromoacetyl)-5-chlorothiophene-2-sulfonamide in isopropyl alcohol in the presence of triethylamine under reflux to obtain the compound of Formula (I). The obtained product is isolated and recrystallized to obtain the compound in crystalline form."
