According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Manikkadainool device is a novel instrument especially designed for getting results using Wrist Circumference and finger breadth values without compromising the ancient method. It will be a calculator and data analyser and a printer to receive instant results. Manikkadainool diagnosis is a method of diagnosis to know the health status and existing diseases of the patient by taking wrist circumference under some standard parameters. The resultant value in Finger Breadth reveals more information of the pre-existing, existing and prognosis of the diseases. It is described by Siddhar Agathiar in Agathiya Soodamani Kayaru Soothiram as Manikkadai Nool Suthiram. The resultant values in Finger Breadth are the indicators of the affecting diseases and also reflecting the status of the health. A resultant value (4 to 11) of the ratio of wrist circumference (above four finger's breadth from the wrist of a person/patent) and one finger breadth value shows significant initiations for a diagnosis in Siddha. Manikkadainool device looks like smart printer. It finds the results using input data and brings printout of results. Its various functions are calculating one finger breadth, finding the result using input formula and reproducing the appropriate result in a printed format automatically."
