MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411066373 A) filed by S P Trademarks Llp., New Delhi, on Sept. 2, 2024, for 'a novel herbal tea substitute composition and process of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Krishna Chaurasia.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an herbal composition as a substitute to tea, comprising of component A is catechu; component B is lime; component C is sugarcane pulp and water. The composition comprises a coating base, wherein said coating base is selected from the group consisting of Sugarcane pulp, Senna leaves, tendu leaves, banana leaves, papaya leaves, cauliflower leaves, or combination thereof."
