MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611018613 A) filed by Dr. Manoj V. Girase; Dr. Shailesh S. Chalikwar; Ms. Pratiksha B. Marwadkar; Ms. Jagruti R. Badgujar; and Mr. Bhavesh S. Mistari, Shirpur, Maharashtra, on Feb. 18, 2026, for 'a novel herbal cosmeceutical foot care composition and method for skin repair using nigella sativa oil.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a novel herbal cosmeceutical foot care composition comprising Nigella sativa oil incorporated into a wax-based delivery system for repairing, moisturizing, and rejuvenating foot skin. The formulation is designed to address common foot-related dermatological conditions such as dryness, cracked heels, roughness, and microbial infections while maintaining skin safety and compatibility. The composition exhibits a skin-friendly pH in the range of 5.5 to 6.5 and a viscosity of approximately 30,000 centipoise, enabling easy spreadability and effective adherence during application. The formulation demonstrates significant antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, shows no skin irritation upon patch testing, and remains stable under varying temperature and humidity conditions without phase separation. The invention further discloses a method for preparation and a method of application of the composition, providing a natural, eco-friendly, and effective solution for foot skin repair and care."
