MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521059475 A) filed by Sundardas Raghunath Gore; and Seema Sundardas Gore, Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra, on June 20, for 'a non-surgical refractive error correction system.'

Inventor(s) include Sundardas Raghunath Gore.

The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention may relate to a non-surgical refractive error correction system in the field of ophthalmology and optometry. The system may comprise a scleral reshaping lens (12) having an inner surface configured to contact a corneal surface (24) and an outer surface exposed to ambient conditions. The scleral reshaping lens (12) may include a posterior curvature (15) deliberately configured to create a mismatch with an anterior corneal curvature to form a therapeutic fluid reservoir space between the inner surface and the corneal surface (24). The scleral reshaping lens (12) may further comprise a plurality of micro-ventilation holes (14) extending through the lens and tapered smooth edges (16) configured to prevent ocular irritation. The system may additionally comprise an ophthalmic gel composition configured to be applied to the inner surface and retained within the therapeutic fluid reservoir space."
