MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611052295 A) filed by Baba Farid College Of Engineering And Technology; and Baba Farid College, Bathinda, Punjab, on April 24, for 'a nano-bio composite formulation for management of aphids and method of preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed nano-bio composite formulation comprises a chitosan nanoparticle phase comprising chitosan in the range of about 0.5% to 2% w/v. The formulation further comprises a polyanionic crosslinking agent selected from sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium hexametaphosphate, or combinations thereof. The formulation further comprises a botanical extract comprising a ginger extract in the range of about 1% to 5% v/v equivalent encapsulated within the chitosan nanoparticle phase. The formulation further comprises a zinc-based nanoparticle phase in the range of about 0.1% to 1% w/v. The formulation further comprises a botanical oil comprising coriander oil in the range of about 0.2% to 1% v/v. The formulation further comprises a surfactant comprising a non-ionic surfactant including Tween-80 in the range of about 0.1% to 0.5% v/v. The chitosan nanoparticle phase, the encapsulated botanical extract, the zinc-based nanoparticle phase, and the botanical oil are combined to form a homogeneous dispersion configured for fol."
