MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044212 A) filed by Aditya University; Aditya College Of Engineering And Technology; Aditya College Of Pharmacy; and Aditya Degree College, Surampalem, Andhra Pradesh, on April 7, for 'a nail-holding tool with chain-based sequential indexing and controlled release and method of operation.'

Inventor(s) include Guttula Venkata Lakshmi; Dr. M V B Murali Krishna M; Jammana Lalu Prasad; Sanjeev Dande; and Kassa Suresh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure proposes a nail-holding tool (100) that is configured for sequential positioning, gripping, and controlled release of multiple nails (10) of varying diameters during hammer-based fixing operations. The nail-holding tool (100) comprises a housing (102), a rotary indexing assembly (112), plurality of holding assemblies (142), and a nail releasing assembly (156). The nail-holding tool (100) improves operational safety by enabling sequential nail (10) positioning and controlled release through a mechanically actuated slider mechanism, thereby maintaining safe hand distance from the impact zone. The nail-holding tool (100) maintains consistent nail alignment during sequential operations through coordinated gear-driven chain movement and indexed positioning of pivot-mounted nail holders within the housing (102). The nail-holding tool (100) reduces manual handling and operational interruptions by combining chain-based holder indexing with preloaded nails (10), enabling continuous hammer-based fastening without repeated nail (10) placement by the user."
