MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006508 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a multilingual translation device and a method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a multilingual translation device (100), comprising a wearable unit adapted to be worn over a user's fingers. Further, the wearable unit comprises a housing configured to enclose electronic components, a microphone (102) for capturing spoken words uttered in proximity to the user, an image capturing module (110) for capturing a sign language from the proximity of the user, a speaker for transmitting a translated audio. Further, a microprocessor (104) operatively coupled with the wearable unit. Further, the microprocessor (104) is configured to receive the spoken words and the captured sign language from proximity to the user, transmit the captured audio-visual data to an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based translation engine (108) via a network interface, receive translated text data from the AI-based translation engine (108), convert the translation text into audio signals, and transmit the audio to the user via the speaker."
