According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a multifunctional motorized wheelchair designed to enhance mobility, independence, and hygiene for persons with physical disabilities. The system comprises a wheelchair frame (1) supporting a seat base (3) integrated with a toilet access opening (4) and a toilet seat lid (5), along with a backrest (2), armrests (6), rear wheels (7), and front caster wheels (8) for manual mobility. A detachable drive unit is configured to be connected to the wheelchair frame (1) through a docking support bar (15) and a docking lock hook (14). The drive unit includes an electric hub motor (9), a rechargeable battery pack (10), a braking mechanism (11), support wheels (12), and a support wheel engagement lever (13) for controlled operation and stability. An LED headlight (16) is provided for improved visibility. The invention enables both manual and powered operation while allowing hygienic usage without user transfer, thereby improving comfort, safety, and overall quality of life in a single integrated system."
