MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621007683 A) filed by Ve Commercial Vehicles Ltd., Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 27, for 'a mounting cage for hydrogen storage tanks in commercial vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Rohit Raghuwanshi; Gopal Jadon; and Amarnath Laxman Prasad.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mounting cage (100) for hydrogen storage tanks in commercial vehicle characterized in that the cage configured to be mounted on chassis rails of the vehicle behind a cabin of driver, the mounting cage (100) comprising a load bearing cage frame (102), a plurality of tank-receiving bays (106) arranged in a vertical configuration within the cage frame (102), each adapted to receive a hydrogen tank, a vibration-dampening tank holding mechanism (108) provided within each of the plurality of tank-receiving bays (106), a plurality of impact guards (110) positioned at side panels and bottom of the mounting cage (100) to resist lateral impact forces and underbody impacts forces, and a plurality of slidable access panels (112) arranged within each of the plurality of tank-receiving bays (106), wherein the plurality of slidable access panels (112) are accessed for inspection and servicing of the hydrogen tanks without dismantling the entire cage system."
