MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641062036 A) filed by Renuka Industries, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on May 15, for 'a mixer grinder and a lid-lock mechanism thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Leelakrishnan J.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a mixer grinder and a lid-lock mechanism configured to stop the functioning of the motor unless the lid is properly secured on the jar. This mechanism comprises a lid provided with a probe which engages with a connecting needle positioned inside a handle of the jar. The connecting needle is supported by a resilient member and carries a magnet mounted within a magnet holder. When the lid is properly placed, the probe presses the connecting needle downwards causing the magnet to align with a sensor positioned within base unit of the mixer grinder. The sensor communicates with a control unit which activates a relay to supply electrical power to the motor. In the absence of proper lid placement, the sensor does not detect the magnet and the motor remains disabled. This mechanism can be retrofitted to existing mixer grinder jars without modification."
