MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025738 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 5, for 'a mini hurdle path system for step-over physiotherapy exercise in rodent models.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Sathya 'Siva; and Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a mini hurdle path system compnsmg a base platform having a non-slip surface, a plurality of adjustable hurdles positioned along a linear path, and safety side walls extending along lateral edges of the platform. The hurdles are height-adjustable to accommodate varying levels of motor ability. The system enables controlled step-over exercises for rodent physiotherapy, allowing assessment and training of gait, limb elevation, coordination, and balance during rehabilitation and research applications."
