MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631062051 A) filed by Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, Assam, on May 15, for 'a millet-based instant soup mix incorporating bhimkol, oyster mushroom and indigenous herbs.'

The soup mix comprises millet and cereal flours, bhimkol powder, mushroom powder, culantro, lawn marsh pennywort, vegetables, spices, and salt, processed using controlled drying techniques to preserve nutritional and functional properties. The formulation provides enhanced protein bioavailability, antioxidant retention, instant solubility, and improved sensory attributes. The product is plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, preservative-free, and shelf-stable under ambient conditions. The invention promotes the utilization of indigenous bio-resources to deliver a nutritious, convenient, and sustainable food product suitable for modern dietary requirements."
