MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521110519 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 12, 2025, for 'a middleware platform for smart manufacturing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secure adaptive IoT middleware platform (100) is disclosed for unifying control, cybersecurity, and interoperability among heterogeneous legacy and modern IoT devices (4) in smart manufacturing networks. The architecture integrates a security layer (1) implementing Transport Layer Security (TLS)-based encryption, programmable access control, and software-defined networking (SDN) micro-segmentation reinforced by hardware secure elements; a protocol translation engine (2) utilizing artificial intelligence for real-time, adaptive message conversion across MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, OPC-UA, and other industrial standards; and a centralized management console (3) for analytics aggregation, incident response automation, and compliance monitoring across cloud and on-premises environments. Modular device interfaces enable secure onboarding and integrity validation, ensuring scalable, policy-compliant, and resilient manufacturing operations with continuous monitoring, adaptive learning, and interoperable cyber-physical connectivity."
