MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621000550 A) filed by Dr. Shailesh Satish Dixit; and Mrs. Nandini Shailesh Dixit, Nashik, Maharashtra, on Jan. 3, for 'a micronutrients enriched protein formulation.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Micronutrients enriched Protein Formulation The present invention relates to a nutritionally enriched protein powder composition comprising one or more protein sources selected from pea protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, rice protein isolate, or bengal-gram protein isolate in an amount from 18 g to 85 g per 100 g of formulation, fortified with water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, B12, C), fat-soluble vitamins (A, D3, E, K1), and minerals (iron, zinc, iodine, selenium), together with maltodextrin 50 g as carrier, soy lecithin 1.5 g as emulsifier, guar gum or xanthan gum 0.75 g as stabiliser, sucralose 0.15 g as sweetener, flavor 4.0 g as organoleptic enhancer, and optionally inulin 2.389 g (or as required) as dietary fiber, the process comprising preparation of water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamin premixes, emulsification, blending, sieving, and nitrogen-protected packaging to yield a stable, homogeneous, instantly dispersible protein powder exhibiting high solubility, oxidative stability, and up to 24-month shelf life."
