MUMBAI, India, Dec. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511101882 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Oct. 22, for 'a microfluidic organ-on-chip device for drug toxicity testing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a microfluidic organ-on-chip device (10) comprising microchannels (12), a porous membrane (14), and cell culture chambers (16) integrated with biosensors (18) for real-time drug toxicity testing. The device includes a flow-control unit (24) and bubble-trap unit (22) ensuring continuous perfusion and stable operation. Multiple organ modules (20) can be interconnected to simulate systemic responses. The invention enables dynamic, physiologically relevant assessment of drug toxicity, reducing dependence on animal testing and improving predictive accuracy for human drug safety evaluation."
